At this truly special and magical time of the year, all of us at the Central Aroostook Humane Society would like to take the time to thank so many who have helped to keep our doors open over this past year.
CARIBOU, Maine — Teague Park third-graders learned why it is important to always spay or neuter their cats after Norma Milton of Halfway Home Pet Rescue gave a presentation at the Caribou Public Library.
Once again, it’s that time of year when everyone is in better spirits, one way or the other. It’s a time of giving and receiving, friendship, caring and Christ. Family and friends come together and celebrate. Please don’t forget, your pets are your family, too.

What a busy time of year it is. We are all out buying Christmas trees, hanging up lights, mailing cards and buying that turkey. It is a festive time of year, where it doesn’t matter what has happened throughout the year. What matters is not what we have, but what we can give to others. And that shows here more than ever this time of year.

Well, it’s been some time since we have used the column, but I’m sure you all have been kept up to date on the happenings around your town and others. Our Facebook page of Animal Care and Control of Maine under my name is still active.
About five or six years ago The Ark cleaned up a hoarding situation in Island Falls. We took out over 20 cats and kittens, got them altered and found homes for them all.
