Donnie, a special-needs cat, came to Halfway Home Pet Rescue as an extremely frightened, shy young adult cat.
Imagine living in a world where home is wherever you can find shelter under a porch, in an abandoned house or garage. Imagine being so matted and full of burdocks and just plain filthy and so hungry you cry most of the time. Imagine that your cries fall on deaf ears.
Now that fireworks are enjoyed year-round in Maine, it is important for us not to forget our furry friends during this season.
Percy is a 4-year-old neutered male cat residing at Halfway Home Pet Rescue.
Have you ever had a dog that licks a lot, himself another dog or you, I have a couple in my house like that. My larger dog, she is a husky mix licks her front legs all the time, my little smaller dog likes whatever he can, if he is near me he will lick and lick, especially if you just applied some kind of lotion.
Katlyn Jandreau of Caribou, an eighth-grader, holds Rebecca the cat at the Halfway Home Pet Rescue.
A while ago The Ark took in a male cat named Maxwell. Maxwell is a big beautiful pure white cat with blues eyes. Unfortunately Maxwell is deaf. Being deaf does not bother Maxwell he was born that way and doesn’t know he is different.
Once again, the two-legged and “four-legged” friends of the Central Aroostook Humane Society came out to support one of our biggest fundraisers of the year.
As a pet owner, we all want to enjoy our four-legged family members, keeping them as healthy and as happy (and as spoiled) as possible.
