December is a reflective time for those of us who volunteer at the Central Aroostook Humane Society.

Every year thousands of unwanted pets are returned, given away or abandoned to their fates. Some of these pets were gifts for birthdays, Christmas or other occasions. We have shared this information in the past, but we feel it is worth repeating.

On the Friday following Thanksgiving, members of CrossFit Presque Isle took on a burpee challenge that raised more than $2,000 for the shelter.

Well, it’s that time of year again when pets’ tails start waggin’ in anticipation of greeting Santa Paws at The Central Aroostook Humane Society.
