A shelter cat’s life

It is rare that we have an overabundance of “empty” cat cages, but we have thankfully seen a decline in the number of cats coming through our doors.

‘EPPIE-Do’

HHPR seeks owner of lost calico cat

This calico long-hair female, nicknamed “Daisy” by Halfway Home Pet Rescue volunteers, was found on the Jemtland Road in New Sweden and needed immediate medical help.

Ark Animal Sanctuary – Week of August 14

About a week ago we received a phone call from a lady about a stray cat that had been hanging around her house. Unfortunately it was a Saturday and no one answered the phone at the place where her town contracted, and the animal control officer was unavailable.

Is your pet lost?

It seems like there have been so many missing pets over the past few months.  We are happy that folks will utilize the Facebook page of the Central Aroostook Humane Society to send us a photo, description, area lost and contact information.

Annie’s antics: solving pet perils

There are many perils for inquisitive dogs in our homes, and we don’t even realize it sometimes until disaster strikes.  Hopefully a few situations I have had and probably will continue to have with our dog will help you avoid some problems and dangers.

Ark Animal Sanctuary – Week of July 29

We wanted to give you an update on Luke and Lydia — the two black kittens that were so sick.  Lydia has made a full recovery, but one of her eyes has a small scar. Other than that her vision is good.
