I have thought a lot about the article that you are about to read to ensure I pick the right words and to try not to judge people. While I realize we are human and everyone makes mistakes, I also realize that every day we make decisions that can change the course of someone’s life.
We have had indoor cats for close to 17 years. Even though we lost our sweet Annie back in March, Willie is still going strong and continues to be an indoor cat.
We are getting excited and we’ve set the date. The Presque Isle Inn and Convention Center has teamed up with the Central Aroostook Humane Society once again to put on the 10th Annual Toast to the Animals, our beer and wine tasting and silent auction fundraiser.
We would like to thank everyone who stopped by our booth last weekend at the Trash & Treasure Show at The Forum. It is always wonderful to visit with folks who have adopted their pet from us and hear the happy ending stories that they love to share.
Every animal that passes through our door has a story. Many are heartbreaking and all are sad. Surrendered because they are no longer wanted or because the family is moving. Some surrender them because they have had a baby, while others just drop them off on the road side somewhere.
At the Ark there is a cat named Twin. Twin is not your ordinary cat. If I had to guess, I would say he is at least 10 years old or more. Twin came to The Ark many years ago, actually before the fire. He was brought in with a cat named Bobbi. Bobbi was a social butterfly, while Twin was very timid and shy.
KitKat is a 10-month-old orange short-haired female cat living at the Halfway Home Pet Rescue Adoption Center.
