PAWS Pet of the Week – Elliot

Elliot’s eyes and frostbitten ears tell a story.. He was intimidating at first, but nobody gave up on him. Finally he started responding.

A smashing success

July 6 will definitely go down as one of the most fun and successful fundraisers that we have had the pleasure of having for the Central Aroostook Humane Society. Kris Rotonda with his Jordan’s Way Team traveled from Florida, all the way up to Aroostook County to hold a live 3-hour Facebook fundraiser.

Special guest to raise building funds

You definitely need to mark your calendars for Thursday, July 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. We are thrilled to have Kris Rotonda and the Jordan’s Way team as our guests.  They will arrive at the Central Aroostook Humane Society to do a three-hour live fundraiser through our shelter Facebook feed.

FORT KENT, Maine -- October 10, 2022 -- Cherish is about 2 years old and has already been a mommy. She should have a chance at being a young cat as she has never had the opportunity. She’s still a bit unsure of herself at the shelter, but opens right up with a gentle touch and some one-on-one time. She usually waits for someone to approach her. She has been spayed, is up to date on vaccines and is great with all the other cats. If you would like to come in and meet this cutie, please fill out an online adoption application at form.jotform.com/90716677906166. (Courtesy of PAWS)

Ark Animal Sanctuary – Week of June 14, 2023

When you think of the Ark I think most people think we are a typical rescue, taking in animals and finding homes, neutering and spaying. We are so much more than that. We take in cats with special needs.

How to avoid rabies

When I had two very spoiled and lazy kitties that spent most of their days lounging around inside my house, there was little concern when it came to rabies. But for those of you who have pets that venture outside, especially in the more rural areas, then the possibility of being bitten by a diseased animal increases.

Ark Animal Sanctuary – Week of May 24, 2023

Kitten season has begun and right now we have four litters of kittens and their moms at the sanctuary. I should mention that three of those mom’s came from the same house. There were three pregnant females and one un neutered male. The male has since been neutered and the three females all went into […]

PAWS Pet of the week – Olivia

Olivia is a lovely ginger who would be a great addition to a home preferably without other cats. You see, she is coexisting just fine currently with lots of other cats, but she really does not like being around them. It is stopping her from showing us her true personality. We see her potential when […]
