Shelter provides aid to neglected dogs By Lisa WilcoxStaff Writer CARIBOU — Two dogs that were found running loose on the Green Ridge Road in Caribou are in the process of recovering from apparent starvation, infections and pressure sores at the Central Aroostook Humane Society in Presque Isle.
There are a lot of people who have a spare hour now and again and think that with just an hour, there is little they can do to help out if they are so inclined to want to volunteer at the animal shelter.

It was a long day so when I sat down in my favorite chair and a cat jumped in my lap, I was really enjoying the long sigh that escaped from my lips as Boo started to purr. “Ahhhhhhh” I could hear it in my head, the sound of winding down, that whisper that captures all the stress and tension of the day and dissolves it with the touch of soft fur and the gentle sound of a feline engine.
