Stephanie is a beautiful 5-month-old spayed female cat. She has all medical procedures completed and is looking for a home. Volunteers say that Stephanie is quiet and a tiny bit shy until she knows she won’t be harmed.
That time of year again and we here hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year! It’s a joyful and festive time with everyone rushing around doing parties, suppers and get-togethers.
What a year it has been for Houlton Humane Society! We have so much to tell you, but we don’t know where to start. One thing we are proud of is our numbers. In the year of 2012, we did about 250 adoptions. This year, we did over 450 adoptions! These numbers are astounding and it is because of all of you. We almost doubled the lives we saved and re-homed and this truly is a blessing.

The Halfway Home Pet Rescue of Caribou will close for adoptions from Saturday, Dec. 21, at 3 p.m. until January 2, 2014. According to president Norma Milton, the rescue’s concern is for the safety and well-being of the new kitten or cat.
