Ark Animal Sanctuary

by Lorraine Monfils    A few weeks ago a gentleman brought in a long-haired yellow cat. She had been hanging around his house and she was missing some fur, which concerned him. We agreed to take her in and get her the necessary veterinary care that she required.

‘Pitch in for the Paws’ to aid four County animal shelters

    A region-wide project led by the county’s four hospitals and the County Federal Credit Union to support four animal shelters in northern, central and southern Aroostook will kick off on Halloween and run through the first week of November. Pitch in for the Paws is a coordinated collection drive for items to stock the shelves at the animal welfare organizations that take in stray and abandoned pets.

Pet Talk

So what a busy few weeks we have had at the shelter. We have taken in 37 cats, which makes us double capacity. We also took in three dogs that no one claimed, plus five owner dogs, putting us at 13 dogs and 10 kennels. These numbers are scary, but luckily, there are some things you can do to help. What you ask? Let me tell you.
