Time to pick the perfect present for the outdoor-oriented guy or gal on your gift list is ticking away.

The last three days of November and the first three of December combine to form this year’s week of muzzleloader season for whitetail deer in Aroostook County.

Most sportsmen are heavily committed to some variety of big or small game gunning or upland birds or waterfowl during October and November, completely ignoring late-season fishing options.

Duck hunting season for our northern zone runs through Dec. 3. It’s been a great nesting year and puddle ducks of every species are prominent on every size waterway from mud puddles and creeks to huge lakes and rivers.
