Ark Animal Sanctuary – Week of June 7, 2021

The past couple of months The Ark has been hit with some pretty hefty vet bills. During COVID we did not have access to a vet and it put us behind on all of our vaccinations and wellness exams.

Pass the heat

Finally, the heat has arrived. The dour forecasts of gloom and doom or rain and damp have ended. Summer is here. Those of us who wear the wood stove fanny packs and three pairs of long underwear just to see if the cold has fallen below the thermometer are thrilled.

The pleasure of a friendly game

I believe there must have been nearly seventy people carefully placed in the American Legion Hall on that Saturday night, all there to participate in a night of Bingo.

When is the last time you visited a museum?  According to the American Alliance of Museums, museums average 865 million visits per year or 2.3 million per day.  Why?  Museums have so much to offer.

As president of the Maine State Chamber of Commerce and a proud native of Aroostook County, two recent articles about efforts to keep young people in The County caught my attention: one on the Aroostook Aspirations Initiative’s Gauvin Scholars scholarship and mentorship program, and the other on colleges and universities partnering with employers.

Parent expresses exclusion concerns at RSU 29

To the editor;
We are living in troubled times, but I can only assume people would do what they could to make life as normal and stress-free as possible. Which is why I am troubled at the interaction I recently had with RSU 29 school officials.
