Don’t sink the ship

To the editor:
Everyone’s heard that too many rats scrambling aboard a sinking ship will sink it. We as a nation are doing all we can to stay afloat with the people we’ve got now and the approximately one million legal immigrants we allow in every year.

Spooky tales by lantern light

October is the month in which kids start looking forward to picking out Halloween costumes and some people decorate their front porches with mums.  It is also a time when spooky tales seem to come to the forefront of everyone’s minds.

Talking out of both sides

To the editor:

In May 2020, I wrote a letter to the editor asking “how low will a group of people go?” Today, I think we can ask that question again. It has certainly been answered over the past 16 months, after more than 60 cases in the United States of America Courts being thrown out or dismissed because of zero merit or proof of the complaint, including the Supreme Court, according to PolitiFact.com.

Wealth is measured by the heart

I was engaging in one of my favorite pastimes, at one of my favorite stores, when I noticed her standing beside me. I recognized her immediately and moved closer, saying hello. It took her a few moments to place me, but when she did, she smiled and moved toward me for a hug.
