No tricks, but lots of treats

Halloween was always one of my favorite holidays as a child and it still is. Next to Christmas, it is one of the greatest traditions for a kid. I mean what child doesn’t like free candy?

Water rate increase necessary

The Presque Isle Utilities District, water division, is requesting permission from the Maine Public Utilities Commission to increase water rates starting on Feb. 1, 2019. If approved, rates will increase by an average of 11.55 percent for all metered customer classes.

Hats off to County farmers

When I worked the potato harvest on our family farm growing up, I can still remember falls when we finished ‘digging’ early and my dad would take his harvester and crew to another farm to help them finish their harvest.

Voters should approve change to appointed County treasurer

Voters in Aroostook County will see a referendum question on the Nov. 6 ballot that is specific to the governance structure of Aroostook County. The Aroostook only question asks voter approval to eliminate the elected County treasurer position and replace it with an appointed County treasurer.
