The day was overcast but still warm for September. I was in shorts and a well-worn wool plaid shirt–one of my standbys from fishing trips past. Andy, my friend and local guide, was waiting anxiously beside his trailer when I pulled up.

Rural hospitals in Maine have faced extraordinary financial pressures throughout the pandemic. Congress acted swiftly at the start of the pandemic to offer support, but some of the terms of the loans and emergency funding it has extended to hospitals must be updated if they are going to weather this storm.
The safety of all passengers and staff remains our top priority here at Presque Isle International Airport (PQI). We continue to follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control related to sanitizing high-touch, high-traffic areas.
If you have taken a stroll through town, chances are you have noticed the leaves have already started to show a familiar hint of yellow and red hues even though the calendar just turned from August to September.
Throughout Maine’s history, our forest products industry has created good-paying jobs, driven local economies and sustained rural communities.
