I have been in Caribou for over 25 years and thanks to Councilors Kirkpatrick, Morrell and Goughan I believe this has been the best Council in all that time.
In the words of humorist Erma Bombeck, “The grass is always greener over the septic tank.” Having issues with your septic system is no laughing matter.
If you noticed that some trees, which may have started out with bright colors, suddenly dulled a bit, with some leaves even going rather quickly to a rust color, you have those cold September mornings to blame.
Readers of the Aroostook Republican in the late 1970s might remember a bright, blonde Californian with a broad smile who reported for the newspaper during the year she spent in Maine to test her ability to survive a winter.
September, which ushers in fall and brilliantly colors our surroundings, is also National Suicide Awareness Month.

After watching the Senate candidate debate on Friday night [Sept. 11], two things became clear to us. Senator Collins represents the past while Sara Gideon represents the future.
After detailing the start of the summer with a wild, midnight ambulance trip for a broken leg, the summer was spent in recovery. Still healing but not letting things get in the way.

When the charter commission put together a new charter in 2011, one of the new rules was the stipulation that a councilor’s property taxes had to be paid on or before Dec. 31 of the previous year.
