They make a difference — Taking time to paint a swing set at an elementary school, or walking to each house in Caribou to collect food for the hungry, organizations in Caribou extended a helping hand to those in need for ‘Make a Difference Day.’

After many years of creating gifts for friends and family, Ada V. McIntosh and her family have now begun to create not solely as a hobby but as a beginning on the Apple Core Craft Line.

How lessons from devastating blazes spawned a fire department

The City of Presque Isle was founded in 1828 and was known as Fairbanks Mills.  Despite being a growing village, the community was not proactive about fighting fires, even though most buildings at the time were constructed of wood, until some 50 years later.
