City deserves better passenger treatment

While the city makes a bad call, [United] at the Presque Isle Airport makes one worse. Traveling to Presque Isle due to the death of my grandmother was the nightmare of all nightmares. I thought the worst part of my trip was over after the funeral. I was completely wrong.

Maine needs to create better health care

To the editor:
I am a “consumer” of health care with a Medicare Advantage plan. I would much rather be a “patient” like I was in the late 1950s when I birthed my three babies in a four-day stay for each at a local hospital.

In 1957 our nation was privileged to see the showing of the movie “The Miracle Worker.” This was a portrayal of the early life of Helen Keller, who was born in 1880 and at 19 months old contracted meningitis that so affected her brain that she came through this fever blind, deaf and mute.
