Everything will be OK

To the editor:
What is happening?  The price of gas is falling. Has anyone tried to catch it?  I haven’t heard the “Oh, oh, oh, oh, the price of gas is falling” from the politicians and also the public, like they did when the price was going up.

Childhood Allagash vacations

To the editor:
In my last letter I mentioned how every spring when my older brother, Kevin, and I were kids, my dad, who was usually all work-minded, would pack us up in the Volkswagen van and  head to Little Fall Brook Lake in the Allagash.

For most of my adult life I’ve enjoyed walking, both for exercise and pleasure. Now that I’m retired — all of two weeks now — I find myself taking early morning strolls in the great outdoors around 6 a.m.

We cry gas is high

To the editor:
Back in 2011 the average price of gas in Maine was $2.65 per gallon. At that same time the minimum wage was $7.25 per hour.  Today the average price of gas in Maine is about $5 per gallon and the minimum wage is $12.75 per hour.

Revisiting stimulus checks

To the editor:
In response to Mr. Kierstead regarding our governor buying votes with the $850 [stimulus checks], there were stimulus checks sent in April 2020 for $1,200 and December 2020 for $600 when Trump was president.
