I am writing to express the Woodie Wheaton Land Trust’s strong support for the proposed transfer of ownership of the Forest City Dam to the St. Croix International Waterway Commission.
The town has several options to consider including returning certain TIF revenues to the general fund for approved project costs.
Everyone is invited to leave a stone at the rock during their visit for the April 5 to 8 Eclipse weekend. And with a projected 40,000 visitors for the total solar eclipse on April 8, they could end up with a pretty big cairn.
Houlton High/Middle School announces the second quarter honor roll:
On March 3, SAMHA Jr. Blackhawks defeated the Casco Bay Sabers 5-2 in Auburn to become the 14U Tier4 Maine state champions!
Generally, students are referred to the state licensed high school, located in downtown Houlton, by the Houlton-area public schools or the Department of Justice.
Houlton will most likely receive the largest crowd, but Presque Isle, Caribou, Limestone and Easton are also in the path of totality.
Lately we have been doing a lot of vet runs with multiple cats. The ark is not a typical shelter. We are a sanctuary. We are home to approximately 50 or more feral cats, many of which could never be released back due to health issues.
