Pride Aroostook rallies for youth in Presque Isle and Houlton

 Pride Aroostook recently held rallies in Presque and Houlton to support trans and queer youth. Around 11 people gathered on March 31 near the bridge on Route 1 in Presque Isle. On the same day, another group met in Houlton’s Monument Park.

Weather and downed trees cause Friday outages

High winds caused power outages Friday for people in Houlton, Littleton, Hampden and Woodstock, New Brunswick, according to utility officials. Power was out to around 430 customers in Littleton for seven hours. Good-faith investments in bad-faith businesses

I recognize a pattern in Presque Isle; tell me if this sounds familiar: A business person makes an investment in a distressed asset; our community rallies in cautious support; predictable obstacles emerge; the investor vanishes; citizens are left holding the bag. Fingers are pointed, but as time passes, we forget. Or worse, we grow cynical.
