Candidate for re-election — E. L. Guiou, tax collector, who, by the way, was a candidate for re-election, had a very strong claim in the fine showing he had made.
Tractor driving courses — Miss Margo Leake was in Caribou yesterday enrolling students for tractor driving courses which will be given early in April to any women over the age of 14 who are interested in driving tractors in relief shifts during the spring plowing.
Home with horses — L. S. Weiler arrived home from Chicago Thursday morning with a carload of horses. These horses are now on sale at Weiler’s stable, Mechanic St.
Telephone line — It is reported that a telephone line will be run from New Sweden to Fort Kent by way of Stockholm during the coming summer.
The sum of $31 was netted from the musical given the previous week at the Baptist Church under the auspices of the U.B. Ladies’ Aid.

Social — Leap Year social at Ricker Classical Institute this Friday evening. Young ladies will preside for the first time in eight years.
The I.O.O.F. District, composed of the following Lodges, Mystic Tie, Presque Isle; Aroostook Valley, Caribou; Ashland Lodge, Ashland; Stockholm Lodge, Stockholm; Westfield Lodge, Westfield; and Industry Lodge, Washburn; met at Industry Lodge, Washburn. Ashland Lodge exemplified degrees and Grand Master presented.
Fox run — James Menther of Green Ridge followed a fox track 39 miles on snowshoes in a snowstorm the other day only to find the fox to be a pretty badly fagged dog.
