Red Cross notes — Through the generosity of C.E. Strout, Biddeford, ME, Presque Isle Chapter Red Cross received 400 carnations.

Trip — Hon. George W. Irving made a business trip to Bangor Monday, where he went on one of the committees to consult B&A officials in regard to better shipping facilities for potatoes.

New coach — Arthur Putnam of this town has been elected manager of the Bowdoin baseball team for the season of 1905.
It was pleasant news for his Washburn friends that Rev. Delber Wallace Clark, rector of All Saints’ Church, Staten Island, who graduated from Washburn High School in the class of 1907

Maine building at fair — Albert Astle, who had charge of the erection of the Maine building at the St. Louis fair, returned to his home in this town Saturday evening.

Telephone — The number of subscribers to the rural telephone in Aroostook County has now increased to over 500.
Both Principal E.M. Libby and H.C. Ketchum, who had offered their services in the YMCA branch of war work, had been accepted and planned to go across seas hoping to make arrangements to sail together.

Mrs. Farrell mother of Eben Farrell, fortunately escaped serious injury last Thursday night during a thunder shower.
