Several of the enterprising farmers in the northeastern part of the town have formed a corporation, under the name of the Parkhurst Co-operative Co., for the purpose of engaging in certain lines of business that were locally needed.
Dr. Sarah Randall, who has formerly been located in the Putnam block, has removed to the rooms over the Ingraham Clothing Co., formerly occupied by Miss Charlotte Kinney, where she will be pleased to receive all her old patients and any new ones who may be in need of her services.

New truck — The fire department has recently received a new ladder truck. It is not as large or as good as the one burned in the big fire, but it will have to answer until the authorities are able to purchase a better one.

Walk way — The boardwalk on North Main Street leading from the Post Office to Collins Street has been taken up and the foundation laid for a concrete walk.
Mr. H. J. Hutchins, of Bangor, the linotype expert in charge of the commercial plant, was in town superintending the installation of a new model 14 linotype in the Star-Herald office.

Watching the line — The custom officials have had plenty of work this week watching the boundary line. Two seizures of smuggled liquors have been made.

A very generous and broadminded woman made a donation to the “Melting Pot” and left her basket to call for it.
One of the Phair starch factories included in the purchase made by R. L. Pitcher was taken down carefully, and the whole plant was then transported to the potato growing section of Michigan, where it was assembled and set at work manufacturing starch.

Additional switchboard — The White Mountain Telephone Company received, Wednesday, a three-position switchboard to be put in their new office in Millar’s block. This switchboard was necessary to relieve the congestion on the present board. The telephone patronage has had a steady and remarkable growth in this town the past year, making it necessary for the company to secure larger office quarters and the switchboard. They have secured two large offices in Millar’s block, back of Powers & Archibald’s office.
