Telephones — It is reported that a new telephone line will be built from Caribou to Fort Kent this winter, thus giving direct wire communication with the northern part of The County.

Elected the Village Councillor — Mr. E.L. Osborne, formerly one of our esteemed citizens, but for some years past a resident of Holden, Alberta, was evidently appreciated in his new home, having been elected one of the Village Councillors.

Leased store — Hamilton & Webber, dealers in stoves and tinware, have leased the J.E. Burnham store which they will occupy after January 1.

Moving the stable — Mr. Lewis Whitten bought the stable and lot of E. O. Johnson on Main Street and had had the stable moved nearer the street. It was understood that he was to move the phair stable and connect the two, making a large sized sales stable.

Road — A letter from Mapleton to the Bangor Commercial is again agitating the building of a steam road from Squa Pan to New Sweden.
D.L. Duncan of Washburn had been busy for a fortnight past with a crew of men taking down the Akeley Brook starch factory, one of the oldest starch making plants in the county, and for many years, operated by Johnson & Phair, and later by T. H. Phair.
