Washburn dehydration plant again honored — Harry Umphrey, vice president of McCormick and Company, Inc., announced that the potato dehydration plant at Washburn had again been honored by the War Food Administration for outstanding achievement in food processing.

Light company — The final transfer of the Caribou Water, Light and Power Company was made on Monday when the new owners, E.E. Haynes, G.W. Irving and J.P. Donworth, took possession.

New quarters — The Houlton Meat Supply opened up in their new location Monday and were ready for business, although not settled. The store is conveniently arranged, light, airy and pleasant, and will be a handy place to trade.

Promotion — Donald E. Thibodeau, stationed at a dispensary with the Medical Department of the U.S. Navy at Panama, was promoted to Petty Officer 3/c according to word received by Mrs. Thibodeau of Roberts Street.

New Car — M.B. Hayford of Presque Isle was in Caribou Tuesday, purchasing a new automobile and driving it home. He Had the distinction of being the first to drive a car from Caribou to Presque Isle this year.

Attend session — Messrs A.A. Hutchinson, W.O. Buzzell and A.J. Saunders were in Presque Isle Thursday to attend a session of the Aroostook Council.
