Winslow elected head of bankers in Aroostook — Aroostook county Bankers met at the Aroostook Valley Country Club in Fort Fairfield for their annual meeting on Sept. 12, 1945.

Returned to Houlton — Cu Carroll, who for the past year has been employed in the Scates Drug Store at Caribou, has returned to Houlton and entered the employ of Leighton & Feeley.

59th Annual meeting — Every weekly paper in Aroostook County was represented at the 59th annual meeting of the Maine Press Assn. held in Bangor at which time Chas. H. Fogg was reelected president for the ensuing year.
75 Years Ago – Sept. 20, 1945
Air Medal — F. Joseph Crock, aviation radioman, second class, USNR, of Presque Isle, received the Air Medal for “distinguishing himself by meritorious acts in serial flight.” The award, made by Vice Admiral D. E. Barbery, USN, was presented by Rear Admiral Frank D. Wagner, Commander, Aircraft, 7th Fleet.

New Cattle — Geo. H. Benn has purchased from E.L. Cleveland Company a beautiful herd of Hereford cattle.

Gold – – W.C. Leavitt from Caribou has returned from Alaska where he has been for several months. He has told some interesting accounts of the search for the yellow metal in that far off wilderness.
