     Eight week auto trip — Fritz G. Russell, who for a time was employed at Osgood’s Jewelry store, left in August for California accompanied by Mrs. Russell, making the trip by auto.

Northeast Airlines announced a new record — Northeast Airlines passenger totals for the previous four days were the highest for a four day period in the company’s 12 year history, it was announced by President Paul F. Collins.

State wage board announced a two cent ceiling increase — Col. Wilson R. Buie, director of Labor, U.S. Department of Agriculture, authorized effective Oct. 9, an increase of two cents per barrel in the picking Wage Ceiling.

Farm Labor aids County — The Farm Labor Program, which was sponsored by the Extension Service, had brought into Aroostook County about 7,300 workers to assist in the potato harvest.
