Snow — The heavy snow storm which started Friday evening and raged all day Saturday put a crimp on the excellent skating on the Mill Pond which has been enjoyed during the past week by hundreds of children.

115 Years Ago – Nov.  15, 1905
Two million bushels of potatoes – –  During the month of November 1905, there were 716,571 bushels of potatoes shipped on the B & A Railroad. This makes the total crop, including November’s, 2,358,098 bushels.

75 Years Ago –  Dec. 6, 1945
Local boy awarded farmer degree — Edward D. Hews, the son of Mrs. Ray D. Hews of Presque Isle, was among the 170 outstanding young farmers from 42 states and Hawaii awarded the American Farmer degree at the 18th national meeting of Future Farmers of America held in Kansas City, Missouri.

Captain Ketchum speaker at BPW meeting — Capt. Paul F. Ketchum, Protestant chaplain at the local air base, was the guest speaker at the regular meeting of the Business and Professional Women’s Club held at the home of Edna Cook, president.

Halloran named manager — The Produce Dealers Supply Company announced that William Halloran was appointed manager of their Presque Isle office and warehouse. This company had been serving Aroostook County potato dealers and shippers for over thirty years.
