New nurse in training – – Miss Faye Mackay, who has for some time been employed as bookkeeper in the dental offices of Bridgham & Barton, left Sunday for Portland where she is set to enter the St. Barnabas Hospital to train as a nurse.

Special agent in Aroostook County — Wilfred Trafton, president of the Northern Aroostook Baseball League, was appointed special agent in Aroostook County for the Berkshire Life Insurance Co. He planned to set up his office in Presque Isle.

Former Presque Isle priest became the first native Maine Bishop — Father Daniel J. Feeney, who was pastor of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin at Presque Isle, was consecrated auxiliary Bishop of Portland.

County’s income showed increase — Aroostook County farm families, in 1945, produced crops and livestocks with the record value of more than  $50,993,000, as reported by the Bureau of Census, more than doubling their annual gross income in comparison with 1940.
