Railroad nixes rate increases — The B&A Railroad will not raise their rates on coal and wood despite the ruling of the Interstate Commission. The B&A is seeing that everything possible is being done to help Aroostook County and the industries and people along the lines served by its railroad, said President Percy Todd.

Eva Zippel elected head of Aroostook Teachers’ Association — Mrs. Eva Zippel, principal of the Presque Isle Training School, was elected president of the Aroostook County Teachers’ Association, and Presque Isle was selected as the site of the county convention for an indefinite term of years, at the annual meeting of the association held at the high school.

Carleton Kilpatrick was named to the General Senate at U. of M. — P. Carleton Kilpatrick, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald M. Kilpatrick of Presque Isle and a member of the Men’s Senate at the University of Maine, was named as a representative to the General Senate.
