New home being built — S.C. Page is building a new house on Page Ave. This home will be for rent and it is understood there are a dozen or so applicants already showing the great demand for houses in Caribou.

Head bankers — Percy R. Winslow, vice president and cashier of the Northern National Bank of Presque Isle, was elected president of the Maine Bankers Association at the annual meeting at Poland Spring.

New graduate — Herman Betts, who has just graduated from Colby College, has accepted a position as sub master at R. C. I., to take the place made vacant by the resignation of Prof. Teague.

 115 Years Ago – June 26, 1907
Thunderstorm causes fire – During a severe thunderstorm at 5 o’clock Monday afternoon the farm buildings of Gordon Neal of Greenville Junction, New Brunswick, were struck by lightning and totally destroyed by fire, entailing a loss of $6,000, with an insurance of $1,600.  There was no one at home at the time, and very little was saved.

Homer E. Cyr was named president of Lions Club — Homer E. Cyr was unanimously elected president of the Presque Isle Lions Club at its weekly meeting Thursday evening at the Northeastland hotel.

Named Grand Officer — Mrs. George V. Blanchard, Past Worthy Matron of Lunar chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, was installed as Grand Esther at the 55th annual Grand Chapter session held at Kora Temple in Lewiston May 26, 27 and 28.
