Growing in size — The enlargement of the cloak department in Pattee & Co.’s dry goods store makes an improvement of a very noticeable nature, giving this large firm a much better, more desirable and lighter place to display the large line of cloaks carried. The room has been fitted up in a very handsome and convenient manner.

Elks Women Bowlers In Win Over Caribou Six – In a five-string match here Saturday afternoon between the women howlers of the Houlton Lodge of Elks and a team from Caribou known as the Elite Six, the hostesses turned back the visitors by a margin of 131 pins, the outcome being determined not on points but on total pinfall.

Potato market — he potato market was a little more accurate and prices were distinctly better. $1.50 was the rule in price in Presque Isle, with few moving from farmers’ hands to shipping points. One of the prominent buyers told the Star-Herald reporter that in his opinion, the supply of Mountains was running low.
