Maine Potato Growers elected two new directors at their annual meeting — Two new directors of Maine Potato Growers, Incorporated, Leo Flewelling of Crouseville and Ernest Chasse of Madawaska, were elected at the annual meeting of the potato cooperative at Presque Isle High school, Friday.

LifeFlight comes to Shiretown – Houlton was introduced to the new LifeFlight of Maine air ambulance service, which will be available to Aroostook County soon. Sue Wardwell, critical care coordinator for Meridian Health, led the presentation. She explained the history, functions and details of the service to hospital emergency treatment personnel.

SAD 27 enrollment dips – Enrollment in SAD 27 schools continues to decline sharply. Superintendent Paul Kelly revealed this week that enrollment for the 1973-74 school year showed a drop of 102 students.

With the big leagues now — ‘Bobby’ Vail of this town has joined the pitching staff of the Pittsburgs. This team is now at the head of the National League, and it certainly speaks well for ‘Bob’ to get such a position. His many friends and admirers in Aroostook have reason to feel proud of his advance in the baseball world and will watch with interest his work with the fast Pittsburg team.
