It’s been wisely recommended that I explain what the ‘affliction’ is that I occasionally mention in my articles. I have no problem with that, but it does make me realize that I’ve been coy about it as though I might somehow be ashamed to have it. I have multiple sclerosis; MS for short.
I was a boy of 8 in November 1951. Our family farm was located on the Madawaska Road in Caribou at the corner of the cross road which ran eastward to the west gate road for the Air Force base under construction.
The holiday season is underway and soon families will gather for meals and gift giving. With many relatives under one roof, this is a great time for genealogists to ask questions about holiday traditions practiced in the past or to try to learn more about the family.
