A single tree

Do you remember Ancestry’s One World Tree? It was designed to produce a family tree that connected everyone in the world genealogically. It failed due to multiple duplicates, serious errors including mistaken identities, inaccurate sources, and at the end users could only “read” entries with no method to correct mistakes.

Ark Animal Sanctuary – Week of June 7, 2021

The past couple of months The Ark has been hit with some pretty hefty vet bills. During COVID we did not have access to a vet and it put us behind on all of our vaccinations and wellness exams.

Pass the heat

Finally, the heat has arrived. The dour forecasts of gloom and doom or rain and damp have ended. Summer is here. Those of us who wear the wood stove fanny packs and three pairs of long underwear just to see if the cold has fallen below the thermometer are thrilled.

Junior volunteers at the museum

Junior volunteers are a group of children from age 10 on, who are involved in the Nylander Museum of Natural History and its mission. They came to the museum with family or a school tour, and wanted more.
