For just the sixth time in history, Houlton Lodge #835 is the home Lodge of the Maine Elks Association state president. Michael Hannigan was sworn in by Past State President Michael Powers on Sunday, May 5.

Cary to launch 100 Miles in 100 Days

Cary Medical Center will launch the 2024 Healthy You 100 Miles in 100 Days Fitness Challenge beginning Monday, May 13. The event will be part of the hospital’s National Hospital Week activity. The challenge invites individuals to walk 100 miles in 100 days for a chance to win prizes, including the grand prize, a $250 gift card.

1999 Miss Easton crowned — Crystal Ferris, 18-year-old daughter of Wade and Leah Ferris, and a senior at Easton High School, was crowned 1999 Miss Easton by the reigning 1999 Junior Miss Easton, Shelby Wilcox, at the Community Tea sponsored by the Easton Home Extension held at the community center April 24.

Ground Is Broken — Construction of new Houlton Regional Hospital got its official start Thursday morning at groundbreaking ceremonies on the site. Despite a Wednesday storm that dropped nearly a foot of snow on the ground, about 75 persons turned out for the brief ceremony.
