Nursing School Will Graduate Two Area Girls — Linda J. Bates and Karen Putnam will be among 38 students who will graduate from the Central Maine General Hospital School of Nursing at Lewiston on August 15.

Aroostook Mental Health Services, Inc. and its consortium members conducted a community needs assessment focused on substance use in Aroostook County earlier this year. The assessment was funded by a Health Resources Services Administration Rural Community Opioid Response Planning Implementation III grant, which aims to reduce the morbidity and mortality of substance use disorder, including opioid use disorder.
The festival will begin on Thursday, August 8 with local restaurants hosting poutine eating contests at 1 p.m. and music at the Bi-Centennial Park from 6 to 8 p.m.
