After evaluating the positive responses from the Community Library Survey, the Easton school libraries will open their doors to Easton residents for a trial period between Oct. 12 and Dec. 21 on Wednesdays after school and Saturday mornings.
The Walter T. A. Hansen Memorial Library will begin Toddler Time at the library from 10-11 a.m. each Tuesday morning beginning Oct. 11, 2016. There will be a story and activity geared toward children ages 1-3, although others are also welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Record breaking — Three pickers, Frank Woodward, James Erskine and Fred Tardy, did a record breaking day’s work picking potatoes on the farm of A. W. English, 346 barrels standing to their credit when they knocked off work for the day. Mr. English’s farm on the Center Line Road yielded from 125 to 130 barrels to the acre.
The Haystack Historical Museum will be the site of the area’s first Christmas craft workshop scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016. The workshop will run from 1-3 p.m. at the museum on Main Street in Mapleton.
