Local pastors have joined together to provide a free service for the harvest workers in Washburn.
Organizer Greg Sponberg, pastor of the Baptist Church in Washburn, has been visiting local farms daily to provide coffee and snacks. All items are donated or purchased in town to support local businesses.

The following classes are being offered: Quilting – Mondays and Thursdays, Woodworking – Tuesdays, Purse and Wallet Making – Mondays and Thursdays, Knitting – Thursdays, Whittling – Thursdays, Spanish Cooking – Tuesdays and Workout With Marilyn – Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Senior citizens start new year

On Monday Oct. 3, the Mapleton-Chapman-Castle Hill Seniors started their 42nd year of operations. This organization for seniors began in 1974 with meetings and potluck lunches on Mondays during the school year.
