UMPI students heading back to the forest

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine Science students at the University of Maine are stepping out of the classroom and back into woods thanks to further funding on their project.
When the Aroostook Band of Micmacs reached out to the school to help determine the best use of their 734 acres of forest land, Dean Costello, Dan Swallow and Nathan Norris, all UMPI juniors, took on the project, funded by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, with their professors.

Pageant crowns new Pre-Teen, Teen Miss

    PRESQUE ISLE, Maine On Saturday, April 9, 2016, the Presque Isle High School Class of 2018 sponsored the Pre-Teen and Teen Miss Presque Isle pageant at Presque Isle High School.
Crowned Pre-Teen Miss Presque Isle was Kayleigh Jean Perry, daughter of Danielle and Justin Perry, while the Teen Miss Presque Isle crown was captured by Mayce Kinney, the daughter of Kimberly Kinney and Jirad Kinney.
In the Pre-Teen Miss event, Perry performed an acro-jazz routine to “Get Dancing” by the Disco Tex, and was sponsored by Moon Dance Studio of Presque Isle.
