It’s official, the metallic mining rules fight is back on again. I have a question for all of you: are you getting tired of watching as your often voiced opinions on the future of our wild places are continually dismissed by an administration that seems hell bent on destroying them? I know I am.

On the afternoon of September 1, 2016, I delivered to the Presque Isle offices of the Democratic and Republican parties, multiple copies of A Covenant for Civil Discourse. The Covenant is part of a larger resource document prepared for churches and clergy by the Maine Council of Churches.
A decade and a half has passed, but September 11, 2001, remains as vivid as if it were yesterday. We each have our own recollections of where we were and what we were doing as the horrifying events began to unfold. We all share the still powerful emotions of shock, anger, and grief.

CARIBOU, Maine — The Cary Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary will host the inaugural annual Walk for Hope on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016 beginning at the hospital’s Chan Center. All proceeds from the Walk will benefit “Brian’s Ride” to assist patients receiving cancer treatment at the Jefferson Cary Cancer Center.
