EAST MILLINOCKET — Three members of the Aroostook Partnership’s Forest Products Industry Cluster made a pitch for growing the forest economy of the state to the Economic Development Assessment Team (EDAT), which was in northern Maine recently.
AUGUSTA — The Professional Logging Contractors (PLC) of Maine released results of the state’s first-of-its-kind comprehensive study of the economic impact of Maine logging on Sept. 15, showing the industry contributed an estimated $882 million to the state economy in 2014.

Returning — John R. Nelson, Esq., the young lawyer who has been located in New Sweden for a year, has moved to this village and has fitted up offices in the Maley Building on Main Street. Mr. Nelson is a young man of strict integrity of character and many friends in New Sweden and Caribou wish him success in his change of location.
If someone offered me $100 today, no strings attached, I’d be tempted to accept it and say thank you. But, if I were told that if I just waited until next week, I could receive $200 instead – I think most of us would agree that it might make sense to wait.

When Don Trump chose to use the cheaper building material of ready-mix concrete over structural steel for the erection of his Trump Tower, he knowingly put himself at the mercy of a Mafia cartel. As a result of this cost-saving decision, the Don had no choice but to deal with the four New York Mafia crime families that controlled all contracts on the delivery of concrete for over $2 million. Don Trump reportedly shelled out $22 million on the concrete used to build Trump Tower.
