1899: Teague offers 30 rods square to create park
115 Years Ago-Nov. 16, 1899
• Teague Park: About five years ago, J.D. Teague anticipated growth that Caribou is destined to see, laid out a street intersecting with Main street on the west and connecting on the east with that which runs parallel with the Aroostook River. This opened up a number of desirable house lots. He then gave to the town a lot of land thirty rods square for a public park.
