Grant grows pre-K opportunities for Limestone 3- and 4-year olds

Fall of 2015 could mean big things for pre-K students in Limestone as their community school will receive a share of $14.8 million aimed at expanding public preschool opportunities — and those opportunities include schooling for 3-year-olds.

Swim team debuts in meet at Limestone pool

The Caribou swim team participated in their first meet of the season Saturday, with the Presque Isle Wildcats and Orono Red Riots also making the trip to the Limestone Community School pool.

Nordic ski teams off to strong start

Saturday’s alpine ski meet in Fort Kent was cancelled as the Lonesome Pine course was not ready, but a pair of high school Nordic freestyle meets were held last week.

Caribou takes 3 silvers at Penobscot Valley High School

The Caribou varsity wrestling team made the trip to Penobscot Valley High School Saturday to compete in the annual PVHS Christmas Tournament.
The Vikings finished sixth out 23 teams entered. Foxcroft Academy won with 191.5 points and Dexter was the runner-up with 147.5. Ellsworth (96), Bucksport (86) and PVHS (64) were next, with Caribou following with 50 points.
