BANGOR — Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine) will begin the 114th Congress as the longest, currently-serving senator having never missed a roll call vote. During a ceremony in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 6, Sen. Collins was officially sworn in to her fourth term in the United States Senate.
By Kathy McCarty Staff Writer Three local agencies were the recent beneficiaries of the generosity of an Aroostook County organization. “This year we presented donations to three organizations on behalf of our club, the Northern Maine Antique Tractor Club,” said Cheryl Boulier, spokesperson for the NMATC.
Erin Tateishi has the unique job of coaching both the Caribou Vikings swim team as well as the squad from the Maine School of Science and Mathematics.
While it brings some unique challenges, both Tateishi and the athletes have benefitted from the opportunity. With a combined roster of 21 athletes and a variety of swimming abilities, Tateishi works hard to tailor practices to meet the needs of the individual athletes. The team practices and hosts its meets at the Limestone Community School pool.
CARIBOU — In January, Plourde Furniture Company, Power of Prevention and the Caribou Police Department will unveil a unique exhibit geared to help parents learn to identify signs that may reveal risky teen behaviors.
