Tiger cheerleaders take 2nd

    At Saturday’s Eastern Maine Class D cheering championships, Fort Fairfield, which took to the mat right after the victorious Central Aroostook Panthers, scored 88.5 points to edge Bangor Christian by one-tenth of a point for second place in thecompetition.

Nordic ski teams first in FK meet

A Nordic ski meet was held Friday and an alpine meet the following day for local high school squads.
Fort Kent hosted the Nordic meet, with six boys teams and three boys teams taking part.

Closure of The Jump leads councilor to look for ways to retain and attract businesses

    PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Another business at the Aroostook Centre Mall has closed its doors, as of Monday, Jan. 19, 2015.
Jenna Spoto, owner of The Jump, made the announcement last weekend on the company’s Facebook page, citing rent and other issues for the decision to close. The Jump, which featured bounce houses, a slide and a party room that offered pizza and refreshments, first opened at the mall in 2012.

Eleventh annual Northern Star fundraiser kicks off Friday

Productions in Presque Isle and Houlton will follow Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
