Your story belongs on rural America’s quilt

Photographs are, to me, one of the best things to discover in family history research, and I have received a few emails lately alerting me to a new source; Vintage Aerial. This company has been collecting and preserving aerial photographs taken all over (no pun intended) the United States and currently they have over 25 million photographs in their collection.

DECA members reap rewards at States

The Caribou DECA Club recently returned from the statewide business and marketing competition in Portland with their arms full of awards. All participants placed, with five students taking first-place honors and one placing third.

Where is the outrage?

To the editor:
Last November, voters in Maine Senate District 2 had a choice between Michael Carpenter, a proven public servant with unquestionable integrity and sound character, and Michael Willette, whose flawed character has recently been displayed through his Facebook postings of racist, hate-speech, inciting violence against a major religious group in this country, and the president of the United States. The election is over: Willette won; Mainers, in District 2 and beyond, lost.

Spring flooding

With a pretty deep snowpack in these early days of spring, a lot of folks are wondering about the potential for flooding. Well, first of all, we need to talk about the two basic types of floods at this time of the year. There is ice jam flooding, as residents of Fort Fairfield and Perth-Andover know all too well.
