Frost Library receives grant

LIMESTONE, Maine — The Robert A. Frost Memorial Library recently received a $550 grant from the Rose and Samuel Rudman Library Trust of the Maine Community Foundation to fund a series of programs with children’s author Fran Hodgkins in Aroostook County.

EMA building hopes to expand

    CARIBOU, Maine — The Aroostook County Emergency Management Agency may get a facelift later this year. EMA Director Darren Woods plans to add an addition to the Sweden Street building, which will give the agency much needed space.

Screening to save lives and dollars

To the editor:
Colorectal cancer is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer and the second most common cause of cancer deaths in the country. This year alone, an estimated 133,000 people will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer, and nearly 50,000 will die from the disease. Compounding the tragedy is the fact that colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable forms of cancer.
