Racing cut short by rain

Races at Spud Speedway Sunday were interrupted by rain after four feature races. Therefore, the remaining classes — Northern Lights, Street Stock and Pro Stock — will have double feature races at the next event July 3, which gets underway at at 7 p.m.

Co-ed season begins

Sixteen teams are competing in this year’s Caribou-Presque Isle co-ed softball league. TAMC and the Swedes are undefeated and lead the standings. DFAS, Ashland One Stop and the National Guard A.C. Warriors have just one loss apiece.

Forty-two runners and three walkers participated in the June 21 S.W. Collins 5K Road Race, with Curtis Wheeler of New Sweden and Gabrielle Naranja of Fort Kent capturing the overall titles.
