Savage keys Caribou golf team at Brewer, FF Tigers also begin season
Senior Donovan Savage had an impressive round of 38, leading the way for the Caribou golf team at its debut match played Friday at Pine Hill Golf Club in Brewer.

Cross country season in The County kicks off with meet at Washburn
The Caribou and Washburn cross country teams made the annual trip to Ellsworth for an invitational meet, while the Beavers also hosted other Class C teams for a competition earlier in the week.

UMPI plans Reed gallery celebration
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Reed Fine Art Gallery has received a major upgrade — a new 2,000-square-foot space — and officials are hosting an event to both “unveil” the gallery and rededicate it on Friday, Sept. 18, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. during Homecoming weekend.

Workshop to help local firefighters seek grants
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Maine’s 2nd District congressman, Bruce Poliquin, will sponsor a workshop in Presque Isle, one of four statewide, to help Maine fire departments apply for the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program. This year, so far, FEMA has awarded 16 grants.
